Breaking News Colorado Primary Election Results. Colorado Republican Rep. Lauren poibert, one of the most polarizing members of Congress, easily overcame a challenge from a more mainstream Republican to clinch the primary on Tuesday.
Poibert, who is a first-term torchbearer, saw her Republican-leaning 3rd Congressional District in western Colorado become more Republican after redistricting.
She had no big problem with moderate state Representative Don Coram, a cannabis plantation farmer, who is critical of what he calls poibert’s extremism.
Coram argued that the incumbent’s loyalty to Trump meant neglecting the very important agriculture issues of her sprawling territory in her quest for social media and conservative fame.
Poibert criticized the “Biden regime” and the”socialist” democrats. She also trumpets her gun-toting Second Amendment credentials and her opposition to covid-19 restrictions that briefly closed the “shooters” restaurant.
Poibert criticized Coram for working with legislative Democrats. Her opponent was betting voters averse to poibert’s provocations would choose someone more in the tradition of centrists that have played well in the district, including five Republican terms. It did not resonate.

Also on Tuesday, in Colorado’s deeply conservative El Paso County, eight-term Republican Rep. Dave Williams for his seat in Congressional District 5.
Williams failed to get the phrase “Let’s go Brandon,” the anti-Biden obscenity symbol, added to his name on the ballot.
Lamborn, who faces an ongoing ethics investigation in the House of Representatives over whether he misused official resources for personal purposes, has survived primary challenges in the past as an ardent abortion opponent and supporter of the large U.S. military presence in Colorado Springs.
Earlier this year, Williams led the 24-hour filibuster in the Statehouse on a bill allowing unrestricted access to abortion. The bill eventually became law.
