In the Southern States, Narmada and Tapi flow from East to West and in a direction opposite to Godavari, Krishna and Kaveri in Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Telangana, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu.
There are some short rivers in the Deccan Plateau which flow East to West. They are Sharavathy, Mahadayi and Periyar River.

North, South, East or West. River doesn’t know any of those directions. None but one, direction of higher altitude to low altitude. Course of the river depends on geological formation and events.
Grand Canyon is one of the finest example, how geology shaped course of the river.
River is highly unpredictable. Any major events like flood, earth quake or Volcanic eruption could alter the course of the river. One such documented example is River Mississippi in North America.
